Mountain Scene with a Palette Knife March 15, 6:00-8:30
Palette knife painting is getting a lot of interest but you either love it or hate it. Nothing in between.) Recently, I have been exploring this style of painting landscapes, mountains, desert scenes inspired by the late great Janet McIntyre, It is loose, intuitive exercise in creating form and shape through the use lights and darks with a palette knife and a spatula. So come prepared to create your own rugged landscape. Some experience in painting is recommended.
We will paint on a 16 x 20 stretched canvas with acrylic paints, there will be a tracer for a basic mountain line or you create your own. Step by step instruction of blending the sky and clouds but after that I can only SHOW you what I do, it is a feeling that I just follow and you will have to too. I have done three and they are all different. But I love the exploration of it.
We will start at 6:00 sharp. (Please don't be late, it puts everyone behind in the step by step process. ) We will go until 8:30. Then clean up. Limit of 16 painters. You may bring your own beverage and/or snacks.
